Rev. Melissa Mummert is our consulting minister. In addition to leading one service each month, she is excited to assist UUCCV as we determine our direction as a congregation.
While she is serving quarter-time at UUCCV, Melissa also teaches life skills classes for incarcerated women in Charlotte and connects women released from prison to employment opportunities. Melissa also produced two documentaries about families impacted by the criminal justice system.
Melissa earned her Master of Divinity from Starr King School for the Ministry. She keeps a daily gratitude journal and is always attempting to live more mindfully and with compassion for all.
Melissa's husband Jay serves as senior minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Charlotte. Melissa thoroughly enjoys hanging out with her 10 year old daughter, cooking vegetarian food, swimming, doing yoga, and writing songs, which she enjoys sharing in services.
