a.m. Adult RE Forum: Introduction to, and overview of, The Big Questions

a.m. Worship Service. UUCCV’s Annual Flower
Communion. Rev. Bob and Marie
Houck will lead this intergenerational
service on “Hope for the Flowers,” based on the book by Trina Paulus.
Members and friends are encouraged to bring a flower to add to
the bouquet during the service. Everyone
in attendance will have an opportunity to take home a flower after the
service.

a.m. Adult RE Forum: Chapter 1 of The Big
Questions – What is Happiness and
Where Can It Be Found?
- 11:00
a.m. Worship Service. Rev. Bob’s topic will be “Drinking from the River of Unforgetting.” Our society often focuses on
forgetting – “forgive and forget,” “Put it behind you,” “the past is past,” etc.
A Greek word for “truth,” used by Pilate in his question to
Jesus, encourages us to see truth as that which is “unforgotten.”
Does it hold anything for us in our “free and responsible search for truth
and meaning”?

a.m. Adult RE Forum: Continuing the discussion on The Big Questions, we’ll look at Chapter 2 – “What is the Meaning of
Life?”
Whether or not you heard any of Rev. Bob’s March sermons on this
question, you will want to come and join in the discussion because there
will always be something new to learn.
- 11:00
a.m. Worship Service. UU Musician Elise Witt
will lead our Worship Service.
- 12:30 p.m. Family activities: pot luck lunch followed by
games
Sunday, April 27
- No Adult Forum, so that all can attend the UUCCV Annual
Meeting
- 11:00
a.m. Worship Service. Rev. Barry Whittemore returns to our pulpit for
an abbreviated service prior to the Annual Meeting. In order to
allow Barry sufficient time to speak and convene the Annual Meeting on
time, we will not have announcements or joys and concerns this Sunday.
- 12:15 p.m. UUCCV Annual Meeting, including
election of Trustees for the Church Board year beginning May 1, and
adoption of a preliminary budget for the budget year that begins July 1.
